Lancers Take On Wildcats

(WINDSOR, ON) – There are still tickets available to see the Lancer men’s basketball team take on the Kentucky Wildcats next week, but they’re going fast.

Sunday’s game is already sold out, reports Elisa Mitten of the athletics ticket office. The teams will play a second exhibition game Tuesday, August 17, at 11 a.m. in the St. Denis Centre.

Lancer head coach Chris Oliver promises an entertaining event.

“We are really excited to have coach Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats coming to Windsor,” he said. “They are without question one of the elite programs in the country and it will be a real treat for our university and our community to have the Wildcats in Windsor.”

Last year, head coach John Calipari led Kentucky to a 35-3 record and a berth in the NCAA championship tournament’s Elite Eight. The Lancers finished with a 17-5 record, a division title, and an appearance in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport national championships.
