(DETROIT, MI) – The Detroit Chevrolet Belle Isle Grand Prix hits the streets of historic Belle Isle Park, June 1-3, 2012, and race fans can take advantage of a number of affordable packages to get right to the excitement. The Grand Prix returns for the first time in four years and will feature the IZOD IndyCar Series, the GRAND-AM Rolex sports Car Series, the Pirelli World Challenge Series and the Firestone Indy Lights Series.
Packages for Windsor-area residents include round-trip bus fare to and from the race as well as grandstand seats for the big event. Patrons can also enjoy free concerts on Belle Isle and access to the Family Fun Zone. On Saturday evening, the B-52s will perform live beginning at 7:15 p.m., while Ronnie Dunn will take to the stage on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Starting Tuesday, May 22, ticket packages will be available at the Windsor International Transit Terminal, WFCU Centre and all five Customer Care Centres (Adie Knox Herman Recreation Complex, Optimist Community Centre, Gino & Liz Marcus Community Complex, Forest Glade Community Centre, and South Windsor Recreation Complex). Fans can choose from the following options:
- Saturday – $45.00 (HST included)
- Sunday – $60.00 (HST included)
- Saturday and Sunday – $99.00 (HST included)
Kids under age 12 free!
- Transportation bracelets will be provided with ticket purchase.
Departure from the downtown Windsor International Transit Terminal starts at 8am each day and runs on demand until 2:00pm. Return trips Saturday from Belle Isle will begin running immediately following the race and continue running until 30 minutes after the concert ends.
Return trips on Sunday from Belle Isle begin immediately following the race, until all passengers are returned.
