Clippers Tame Red Devils

(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Clippers defeated their rivals from Wallaceburg 11-9 Friday night. The win improves the Clippers season record to 6-4 at the half way point in the season.

Wallaceburg jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Clippers bounced back to go ahead 3-2 before the Red Devils evened the score at 3-3 after the first period.

Wallaceburg came out in the second period with a four goal outburst to take a 7-3 lead at the half-way point in the game. Windsor answered in the second half of the period going on a 5-0 run to take an 8-7 lead to the dressing room.

In the third period the Clippers increased the lead to 10-7 before the Red Devils came back with a pair of goals to make it 10-9. The Clippers Tyler McDowall put the final nail into the Red Devils coffin when he scored with 5:38 to play in the game. The Clippers defence shut the Red Devils down from there to earn their sixth win of the season.

Jared Riley, Lucas Ducharme, Jeff Rivait and Tyler McDowall each scored a pair for the Clippers while singles were added by Bryan Larocque, Brendon Anger and Cody Holmes. Kyle May stopped 35 shots to record the win in goal for the Clippers.
