Rebels Edge Clippers

By Carl Humphrey

(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Clippers lost a tough battle with the defending champion Six Nations Rebels 15 -14 at Forest Glade Arena on Saturday night. The win improves the Rebels to 13-2 while the Clippers fall to 8-6 on the season.

Jeff Rivait scored 3 times and added 4 assists to lead all Clippers on the score sheet. Tyler McDowall also scored 3 goals to go along with 2 assists while Brendon Anger, Hunter Bushnell and Trevor Learn each scored twice. Singles were added by Lucas Ducharme and Matt Martinello. Kyle May went the distance in goal and took the loss for the Clippers. May saved 30 of 45 shots.

With only six games remaining in the Clippers season, and a log jam of teams fighting for a playoff spot, the Clippers find themselves in a must win situation the rest of the way.

Up next for the Clippers is a trip to Sarnia on Wednesday night to face the pesky Pacers. Game time is 8:00 pm.

The Clippers next home game is next Saturday night when they host the St. Catharines Spartans. Game time is 7:00 pm
