New GM For Vipers

(LaSALLE, ON) – The Jr. B LaSalle Vipers announce the appointment of Tom Kirby as the new General Manager (GM).

Tom Kirby replaces GM Kevin McIntosh, who recently announced his departure due to health issues.

Kirby moves to the Vipers from the Jr. C Kingsville Comets, where he was both General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations.  He joined the Comets as Director of Hockey Operations in 2009. Prior to that he served as head scout for the Tecumseh Chiefs (now the Jr. B Vipers).

Viper’s president John Savage says, they welcome Kirby’s wide ranging experience and his understanding of the team’s core values: education, family and hockey. 

Kirby has degrees in Human Kinetics and Education from the University of Windsor and has worked in the following areas:

  • Referee – OHA (1977-85) and IHL (1979-1984)
  • Minor Hockey Coach – Windsor MHA, LaSalle MHA, Sun Parlour Female Hockey, Sun County AAA MHA (1995-2009)
  • Jr. B. Scout – Tecumseh Chiefs (2005-2008) LaSalle Vipers (2008-2009)
  • GM and Director of Hockey Operations for Kingsville Comet Jr C. Hockey Club (2009-12)

Also, he is currently a sales representative with Mold Master Ltd.

Tom has won various Ontario Hockey Championships as Head Coach, with Sun Parlour Female Hockey, LaSalle Minor Hockey Association, and Sun County AAA Minor Hockey Association,  He was also Head Scout for the 2008 Sutherland Cup Champion Tecumseh Chiefs.
