Windsor Express Pick Up Mike Helms

(WINDSOR, ON) The Windsor Express Professional Basketball team will be holding a conference to formally introduce Mike Helms as a member of the basketball club on 12 October. The conference will be held at Oakland University in Rochester, MI, the one-time home of the basketball stalwart.

A graduate of Martin Luther High School, Helms is a high scoring guard that brings several years of professional basketball experience to the Express.

Helms had a great college career at Oakland University. In 2003, with the Grizzlies, Helms led the team in scoring with 27 points per game which was third highest amongst NCAA Division I players that year. He was also named Mid-Conference Player-of-the-Year in ‘03.

As well, Helms has played professionally in Michigan with the Mayhem of the CBA as well as in Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Australia, Israel and Argentina.

The world-traveller and world-talented Helms will join Isaac Kuon and the rest of the Express when they tip-off in their National Basketball League of Canada home opener, Nov. 2 against the Halifax Rainmen at the WFCU Centre in Windsor.
