Windsor Skaters Heading To Regina

(WINDSOR, ON) – Riverside skating club figure skaters Alyssa D’Asti and Alison Schumacher are headed for Regina, Saskatchewan to compete in the Pre-Novice division at the esteemed Eastern Western Challenge.

Schumacher and D’Asti qualified for the national competition at Skate Canada’s Western Sectional’s competition held in Paris, Ontario November 17. The Western Section qualified 4 top competitors where Schumacher and D’Asti respectively earned 2nd and 3rd place finishes.

Eastern/Western Challenge is being held December 7 and 8 and will host Canada’s top skaters in every skating division of ice skating and ice dance. It is at Challenge that a Canadian champion will be crowned in the Pre-Novice division.

Coach Jennifer Jackson said, “ It couldn’t have worked out any better for these two girls. They have been skating together since their first days at Riverside Skating Club and now they get to take this trip together.  They are friends and training partners and being together in Regina will make it that much better.”
