LaSalle Takes 2012 Huron Line Cup

By Dean Lapierre

(WINDSOR, ON) – Congratulations to the LaSalle Minor Hockey Association on winning the 3rd annual Huron Line Cup.

Sunday’s game was the rubber match with two Atom Minor teams playing to decide the Cup at Adie Knox arena.

LaSalle scored with just 18 seconds left in the 3rd to tie the game at 3 apiece. After a 5 minute OT was played the score was still tied so the teams headed into a three-man shoot out.

Down by one goal, the final Windsor shooter deeked out the LaSalle net-minder only to hit the post.

What a great game played by both teams.

LaSalle now has a 2 – 1 Huron Line Cup lead but Windsor MHA will be back next year to tie up this exciting series.
