(WINDSOR, ON) – The Border City Brawlers (BCB) roller derby league will take on London’s Timber Rollers on Saturday, April 6 at Forest Glade Arena.
The second season for the Brawlers is a big one as the league – an apprentice league with the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association – works toward becoming a full member of WFTDA. BCB will also the host the 2013 Eastern Regionals for the Roller Derby Association of Canada (RDAC) this summer, which will see eight roller derby teams gather in Windsor from across the eastern provinces.
After the season opener, BCB will call Adie Knox their home for the rest of the summer with practices and games being held in the city’s west end. The Brawlers have yet to find a permanent home to practice year round.
BCB faces the Timber Rollers April 6 at Forest Glade Arena. The bout is family friendly and open to all ages. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the first whistle is at 7pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Children 12 and under are free with a paid adult. Tickets are available from players, or can be purchased online at www.bordercitybrawlers.com.
