Cecile Goes The Distance

(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Clippers got off to a slow start in Point Edward on Wednesday night, but found their legs in the second period, and cruised to a 17-11 victory over the Pacers. The win improves the Clippers to 14-4 on the season.

Bryan Larocque scored five times for the Clippers while Brendon tallied four times, Nate Hodgins and Ryan Marchand added a pair of goals each. Singles were scored by Andrew Garant, Austin Thompson, Hunter Cooper Cecile.Bushnell and Trevor Learn.

Cooper Cecile went the distance in goal for the win stopping 33 of 44 shots. Windsor Clippers goaltender is this week’s Windsor Crossing Clipper of the Week.

Cecile earned the honour for his play from June 18th through June 24th. During that stretch Cecile back-stopped the Clippers in a 14-11 win over the Wallaceburg Red Devils. Cecile made 42 saves on 53 shots to earn the victory in goal.

Cecile is currently 7-0 on the season and has an 8.55 GAA. The 19 year-old is 6’2” and 205 lbs, and is in his first year with the Clippers.

Next up for the Clippers and Cecile is a visit from the Hamilton Bengals on Saturday night. Game time at Forest Glade Arena is 7:00 pm
