Channel Attempt Ends Tragically

(LOUGHBOROUGH, ENGLAND) – The Channel Swimming Association confirms that swimmer Susan Taylor died in her attempt to cross the English Channel on 14 July.

Susan was one mile from Boulogne, when she suddenly collapsed in the water. She was first treated in a support boat before being airlifted to hospital.

Taylor was known and loved by so many including those at the CSA, of whom many knew her personally.

Susan had raised more than £3,000 for Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough as she trained hard for the solo 21-mile endurance test.
