Four Stars Return To Express

(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Express is pleased to announce the signing of Darren Duncan, Chris Commons, De’Andre Thomas, and Kevin Loiselle for the upcoming season.

The four were instrumental in leading the Express to the semi-finals against Summerside in their inaugural season and will be back with the team for training camp in mid-October.

Duncan averaged 17.2 points a game in his 37 appearances in the Express line-up. He also lead the National Basketball League of Canada in assists (376) and assists per game (8.4). As well, he was 7th in total scoring with 746 points.

Commons played 34 games with Windsor, dropping an average of 17.4 points a game, ranking him 8th in the NBL, and he finished with 1.3 blocks per game, which was 7th in the league.

In his 10 games with Windsor, Thomas averaged 4.8 rebounds a game, highlighted by an 11 rebound performance in Game 2 of the NBL semi-finals. He also had 19 points in the decisive Game 5.

Loiselle, a Montreal native, brought his stellar energy and defence to the Express line-up, placing 3rd in the NBL in total rebounds (374) and appearing in the Top 10 for both offensive and defensive rebounds per game.

"We are very excited to have these four players back for the coming season,” said Head Coach Bill Jones. “They were very important to our team last year and we expect they will bring their excellent work ethic and leadership skills with them this season."

The Windsor Express’ first pre-season game will be held on October 27th.

The second season for the Windsor Express opens November 1 at the WFCU Centre against the two-time NBL Champion, London Lightning.
