(WINDSOR, ONTARIO) – The Windsor Express have delivered the first blow against their 401 rivals.
Windsor opened the game on a 12-0 run and finished with 39 forth-quarter points on their way to a 113-105 win over the two time defending champion, London Lightning.
The Express got a big boost from point guard, Stefan Bonneau, who started the game and finished with a career-high 31 points in 39 minutes of work.
Key contributions from Chris Commons (23 points, 8 rebounds) and a 15 point performance from Papa Oppong helped lead the charge.
Windsor led 50-47 at the half, and after a see-saw third quarter, took control in the final frame, outscoring London by 13 points.
Jaytornah Wisseh had a team high 24 points for the Lightning.
The next Windsor home game is Sunday, November 17th at 2pm against the expansion Brampton A’s.
