Riverside In The Medals

(NIAGARA FALLS, ON) – Four Riverside Club skaters took home medals from this year’s Western Ontario Sectional Competition held in Niagara Falls this past weekend.

PRE- JUVENILE

  • Ainsley Fabel, 1st place
  • Jonathan Guo, 1st place

JUVENILE UNDER 11

  • Lauren Renshaw, 3rd place

PRE-NOVICE

  • Jessica Taylor, 31st place

NOVICE

  • Alison Schumacher, 1st place

Alyssa D’Asti, 5th place

  • Jamie Nicolson, 11th place

JUNIOR

  • Molly Ghanam, 6th place

Renshaw and Schumacher advance to the Ontario Winter Games held in Orillia in March 2014 where they will compete against fellow provincial athletes.

Schumacher advances to Challenge being held in Regina in December, 2013 and D’Asti is the first alternate. Over 500 skaters will participate in Regina where the top 18 skaters in each division will advance to Nationals in Ottawa in January 2014.

“The Riverside skaters once again showed that they put the work in and the results showed for all of our skaters,” Coach Jennifer Jackson said. “Most had personal best skates and scores and performances.  They should all be very proud of their skating this past weekend.”
