Storm Wipes Out Windsor

By Matt Dumouchelle

(CHARLOTTETOWN, PE) – Two different storms surprised the Windsor Express at the end of their east coast road trip.

After Sunday’s game was rescheduled due to inclement weather, the Island Storm (8-6) shot 52% from the field and snapped Windsor’s (11-6) brief two game winning streak, knocking off the Express 103-91.

Antonio Ballard’s 26 points paced the Storm, who had a 9 point lead at halftime, but gave it up in the fourth quarter, allowing the Express to take an advantage late. The Island Storm kept fighting though, and outscored Windsor 29-19 in the final frame.

Stefan Bonneau led the Express with 23 points in the loss, while DeAndre Thomas had 20 points and a game-high 8 rebounds.

Windsor returns to the WFCU Centre on Friday, December 20 to face the Halifax Rainmen at 7:00 pm.

Tickets are available at the TekSavvy Box Office in the WFCU Centre or by phone at 1-866-969-WFCU.
