By Mary-Helen Spadafora

(WINDSOR, ON) – Rose City Gymnastics has announced the return of the Ontario Provincial Gymnastics Championships to the City of Windsor. This exciting, top level athletic event will bring over 1,600 athletes, coaches, and officials to the region along with parents and family members.

From April 3 to 6, at the newly opened St Clair College Sportsplex, top Ontario athletes in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, and Acrobatics will compete for the right to be considered the best in the sport in Ontario. Top finishers move on to national level competition and potentially Canada’s Olympic Gymnastics team.

Last year’s event, also hosted by Rose City Gymnastics in the city of Windsor, brought upwards of 5,000 people out to the four day event, bringing significant economic spinoff to the region. Over 400 hotel rooms were booked with visitors frequenting local restaurants, shopping centres and local attractions.

Many returning competitors and their family members are looking forward to again enjoying the hospitality of the Windsor/Essex County region and all that it has to offer.
