Express Win Eighth Straight

By Matt Dumouchelle

(LONDON, ON) – Despite 19 days off, the Windsor Express looked to be in peak form, winning their eighth in a row, 107-100 at Budweiser Gardens on Thursday night against the London Lightning.

The eight game winning streak matches a franchise record, set between February 27 and March 24 last season.

The Express (22-7) got 20+ point nights from Stefan Bonneau (game high 25), Darren Duncan (23) and Chris Commons (21), fuelling the team’s effort.

Bonneau and Duncan each had five assists and Kevin Loiselle hustled his way to eight rebounds.

Windsor was down by one going into the break, but came out strong in the second half, pulling away with a 34-19 run through the third quarter.

With the victory, the Express now hold a 3.5 game lead over the Lightning (20-12) and increase their advantage over idle Brampton (20-10) to 2.5.
