Windsor Forces Two Wins

(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Clippers eked out a win by scoring with just two clicks left on the clock to take a 14-13 win over the Wallaceburg Red Devils, Thursday night. The Clippers squandered a five goal lead in the third period, but managed to get the victory.

The win improved the Clippers to 13-3 on the season and ends a two game losing streak. The win also lifted the Clippers out of a tie for first place in the Far West division over the Red Devils.

The win concludes a sweep of the season series with Wallaceburg.

Trevor Learn was the hero scoring the winning goal, which was his fifth of the night. Dylan Riley, Jarred Riley, and Brendon Anger each chipped in with two goals, while singles went to Logan Holmes, Ryan Marchand and Patrick Kaschalk.

Cooper Cecile went the distance in goal for the Clippers making 31 saves.

The Clippers put in a little overtime on Saturday night, en route to securing the Far West division title in a thrilling 16-12 overtime win. The Clippers trailed 11-10 late in the third period, when Chase Kavanaugh found the back of the net with just 9 seconds remaining in regulation to force the extra frame.

In the overtime period it was all Clippers as they jumped out to a 15-11 lead and cruised to the 16-12 win.

Trevor Learn, Brendon Anger, and Ryan Marchand scored three times each for the Clippers, while Chase Kavanaugh and Jarred Riled scored two apiece. Singles were added by James Morgan, Dylan Riley and Austin Thompson.

Jacob Corra earned the win in goal for the Clippers, replacing Cooper Cecile in the second period, giving up 3 goals on 21 shots.

Up next for the Clippers is a home tilt with the Point Edward Pacers on Wednesday night. Game time at Forest Glade Arena is 8:00 pm
