(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Lancers men’s basketball continued with the pre-season preparation as they took on Fanshawe College at the St Clair College HealthPlex, at the Thames Campus in Chatham, on Saurday. The Lancers cruised to a 95-74 win over the Hawks.
Leading the way for Windsor was 4th year visual arts major, Alex Campbell, who put up 20 points in the victory.
The men will now travel to British Columbia for the UBC Invitational tournament on October 17 and 18. The Lancers will face the Fraser Valley Crusaders in Langley on Thursday, followed by a tilt against Thompson Rivers on Saturday, and finally tipping off against the host Thunderbirds Sunday.
Windsor will return home to face Wittenburg Tigers, on October 21, at Acadamie Ste Cecile in their final tune-up before the regular season.
AROUND THE HORN
Lancer Football extended their winning streak to four games by defeating York Lions on the road, 35-3. This is the best start to a season for Windsor since 1987.
Women’s soccer dominated on the road in Sault Ste Marie disposing of the Algoma Thunderbirds twice by a score of 11-1 over the weekend. They have now upped their record to 6-3 on the season. Meanwhile, the men’s side shut out Algoma in both matches, 3-0 and 1-0. The men have now matched the women’s record at 6-3.
Women’s volleyball beat Niagara College 3 sets to 1 on Sunday while the men went 3-o against the Knights.
