(LaSALLE, ON) – The Vipers and Reaume Chevrolet are teaming up once again for the annual Reaume Thanksgiving Can Drive, which runs from October 1 through 8, at the Vollmer Centre and the Reaume dealership at 500 Front Road.
All donations will go directly to the LaSalle Food Bank to help local, low-income families have a Happy Thanksgiving. The food bank is looking for not only canned goods, but other non-perishables, produce, and household items. Cash donations are also appreciated.
Last year, your generosity helped bring in more than 1,000 items for the LaSalle Food Bank, and they are looking to top that number this year.
First place is on the line Wednesday night when the Vipers take on the Legionnaires.
The LaSalle Vipers and Sarnia Legionnaires are the only two squads in the 27-team Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League to remain perfect as the calendar flips from September to October.
The Vipers are a perfect 6-0-0, while the visiting Legionnaires are at 7-0-0. Something has to give on Wednesday night, and the winning team will be the only one remaining in the GOJHL with a perfect record. Game time is 7:00 pm.
With their win Sunday night in Strathroy, the Vipers have topped last season’s 5-0-0 start. Ironically, it was the Legionnaires who ended the 2013-14 streak with a 7-6 shootout victory. The Vipers ultimately went on to start the season 14-0-1, going 15 games without recording a regulation time loss.
