(LONDON, ON) – The London Lightning are proud to welcome London native, Enrico Di Loreto, to the franchise.

Di Loreto comes to the Lightning from the University of Windsor, where he became the all-time leading scorer in Windsor Men’s Basketball history and tied for all-time regular season wins in school history. In his final year at Windsor, he was also named the OUA West First Team All-Star. He averaged 18 points and four rebounds per game.

“”Enrico has meant so much to our program over the last five years. We are very proud he will have the opportunity to contribute to a great organization like the London Lightning. I know he will bring the talent and passion that saw him graduate as our all-time leading scorer, and he will contribute on and off the court to continue the success of such a successful organization,” said University of Windsor men’s basketball Coach Chris Oliver.

“Enrico is a character guy whose core values are honesty, loyalty, hard work and total commitment to the team,” said Tony Marcotullio, Head Coach of the Fanshawe College men’s basketball team. “He is a skilled shooter with great work ethic and his accomplishment of playing for the Lightning team shows the London youth basketball community that hard work pays off.”

Before heading to the University of Windsor, where he graduated with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology, Di Loreto played locally for the H.B. Beal Secondary School Raiders.

“I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to play in my home town, in front of my family and friends. I look forward to being a member of the Lightning organization and to improve every day.” said Di Loreto.

“Enrico will be a great addition to our London Lightning family. He plays with great passion and focus and we are looking forward to having him, not only as a great player on the court, but off the court as well,” added Lightning Head Coach, Carlos Knox.

Di Loreto will make his Lightning debut on Sunday, October 26 in a pre-season game against the Mississauga Power.
