(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Express were without forwards Chris Commons and Kevin Loiselle on Saturday night, but they fought their way to a 114-107 victory over the Brampton A’s at the Powerade Centre. Commons and Loiselle were serving their one game suspensions as a result of incidents in Sunday’s loss in Mississauga.
The team leaned on DeAndre Thomas and Quinnel Brown and both delivered, to improve the Express record to a league-best 8-2. Thomas was named player of the game.
Windsor started off with being carried to a 16-10 lead by Tony Bennett, who had 11 of the team’s points to open the game. From there, Thomas and Brown took over.
Thomas had a season high 33 points in the victory, followed closely by Brown’s 30.
Windsor held a 22-14 lead after the first quarter and that was the difference in the game, as both the second and fourth quarters resulted in tie scores. Brampton (4-7) had a 1-point (31-30) advantage in the third.
It’s back to Mississauga tomorrow for the Windsor Express as this four game road swing continues at the Hershey Centre at 7:00 pm.
The next home game is Saturday, December 27, also against Mississauga. Tipoff is at 7:00 pm at the WFCU Centre.
