(LaSALLE, ON) – The LaSalle Vipers will once again be well represented when the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League holds its annual All-Star and Top Prospects games December 27, in Waterloo.
Last season, the Vipers sent seven players, as well as head coach and general manager Bill Bowler, to the showcase event. This year, six Vipers have been invited to take part in the festivities.
Forward Korey Morgan, an alternate captain in LaSalle, was named to the Western Conference All-Star roster after posting 32 points in the season’s first 30 games.
This is the second such nomination for Morgan, who was named to both the All-Star and Top Prospects games as a rookie in 2012-13. He capped that season by earning Top Rookie Scorer honours, posting 30 goals and 60 points in 51 games.
Vipers captain Brett Langlois will suit up for the All-Star team as well. Langlois, who is a two-time All-Star after being selected in 2013-14, leads the Vipers in career GOJHL games played.
Forwards Manny Silverio and Brett Primeau were named to the Western Conference Top Prospects roster, along with goaltender Eli Billing.
Daniel Beaudoin was selected as an alternate for the Top Prospects.
Primeau and Silverio, both 17, rank first and second in scoring for the Vipers this year, while Beaudoin ranks fifth behind Morgan and Graham Pickard. Primeau was called up to the Ontario Hockey League’s Kingston Frontenacs Monday and is expected to make his OHL debut tonight.
Billing, in his first season of junior hockey, has started 13 games and has seven wins. The Tecumseh native is a 2013 draft pick of the Windsor Spitfires.
