Vipers Vs Giles For Charity

By Rob Benneian

(LaSALLE, ON) – The LaSalle Vipers will take on the Giles All-Stars Thursday afternoon in a charity floor hockey game at Giles Campus French Immersion Public School.

The game is scheduled for 2:30 pm at the school, and will pit members of the Vipers against the Giles All-Stars. The entire student body has been invited to attend the game, with admission coming via donation to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.

The charity game was conceived by Giles student Aidan Robertson, 12, who was tasked with coming up with a creative way to raise money for a local charity.

Robertson is a member of Giles student council, Spirit Club, and was chosen to attend a recent leadership camp at Gesstwood.

In addition to the funds being raised via admission to the floor hockey game, Robertson is selling tickets at school to the Vipers game January 28 against the Lambton Shores Predators. His goal is to raise $500 for Hospice.

Giles students will be taking part in a pre-game ceremony as well as performing the national anthem prior to the January 28 game.
