(MISSISSAUGA, ON) – The Windsor Express (16-7) were without three of their starters on the road in Mississauga, but solid contributions from backups worked in their favour for a 106-96 victory over the Power.

Mississauga (7-14) had a 28-24 advantage over Windsor in the first quarter. From there, it was all Express.

They outscored the Power 27-21 in the second quarter and took a 51-49 lead into halftime. Windsor picked up steam in the second half, as they dominated in the third quarter 26-15, and held on as Mississauga made a comeback in the fourth, 32-29.

Ryan Anderson made his third start for the Express and had the team’s only double double with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Loiselle put up 8 rebounds and Josh Collins dished out a game high 10 assists as a starter.

The Express were able to win on the road without guards Gary Gibson and Tony Bennett, as well as forward Chris Commons, in the line-up due to injury.

Windsor’s win keeps them in first place in the Central Conference and move ahead of the Island Storm for first place in the league.

The Power will make the trip to visit the Express, who are currently 11-0 at home, on January 31 at the WFCU Centre. Tipoff is 7:00 pm.
