(WINDSOR, ON) – It was the meeting of David and Goliath, but the York Lions (9-14-2) didn’t get the script re-write. The Lancers sent the OUA East cellar dwellers packing Saturday night by registering their second 1-0 shutout in a row.

With the bookend frames scoreless, Dylan Denomme’s marker, at 18:09 of the 2nd period, held up as the game winner as he scored his 12th of the season, assisted by Drew Palmer and Scott Prier. Parker Van Buskirk stopped 32 shots and registered his 16th win of the season for the Lancers.

The game was a chippy affair with Windsor being assessed two misconducts when Sebastian Beauregard and Dylan Seguin were fingered for checking to the head. However, the 3rd period was penalty free as York pressed Windsor for the equalizer.

Windsor now leads the OUA West with 41 points and sit 4 points in front of Western with a 20-4-1 record. They now play back-to-back games this week to close out the regular season.

On February 6 Ryerson (13-11-1) roll into town followed the next night by Brock (9-14-2). The puck drops at the South Windsor Arena at 7:30 pm both nights.

Round 1 of the OUA Playoffs begins February 11.
