(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Stars have announced that Shane Topalovic has been appointed as the club’s head coach for the 2015 season.

Topalovic is well known in the community for his exceptional playing history in the local leagues and his time spent with the Windsor Borders Stars. While his playing career was derailed by injury, Topalovic found direction in coaching and is now a highly qualified youth coach, working with many local teams to help develop their skills and physical fitness.

“Shane brings a professional attitude to player development and preparation that is vital for our program.” said Vancho Cirovski, the club’s executive director. “He has excellent knowledge of the game and his expertise in conditioning is unsurpassed in the soccer community.”

Topalovic also serves as the head strength and conditioning coach for the 2014 National Basketball League of Canada Champion, Windsor Express, and is the owner of Next Level Athletics, a highly successful personal fitness studio in Windsor.

Topalovic has trained many professional athletes, including Canadian Men’s National Team soccer players, as well as former NBA, NCAA, and CIS basketball players.

The Stars open their season against Woodbridge Strikers SC on May 2, at 2:00 pm, at St Cecile Academy in Windsor.
