Clippers Clinch 1st Place As Season Winds Down

(WINDSOR, ON) – With four wins in a row, the Windsor Clippers have clinched top spot in the OJBLL Far West Division with five games remaining in the season. Rebounding from a 17-5 collapse at the hands of the Niagara Thunderhawks on May 23, Windsor registered victories of 16-3 and 17-5 over the London Blue Devils, outlasted Wallaceburg 16-12, and gained a 10-6 victory against division rivals Point Edward Pacers.

Over the stretch, Windsor has received outstanding offensive performances from Andrew Garant (4 goals, 7 assists), Noah Bushnell (8,7), and Logan Holmes (9,19) who has extended his team-leading points total to 87 in 15 games played.

Holmes also sits atop the league lead in scoring with a 4-point margin over Kaheriios Montour of the Kahnawake Hunters.

The Clippers will now play their next two games at Forest Glad Arena beginning tomorrow night when they host 2nd place Wallaceburg (5-9) at 8:00 pm. On Saturday at 7:00 pm, the Guelph Regals will bring their 9-7 record to town from the Mid West Division.
