(LONDON, ON) – The Lancers opened the 2015-16 women’s hockey season on the road in London against last year’s OUA regular season champions, the Western Mustangs. And the champs continued their winning streak by disposing of Windsor by a score of 7-1.

Western received goals from seven different scorers, six of them before Windsor got on the board, courtesy of two-sport athlete Krystin Lawrence, at 13:25 of the 3rd period.

Newcomer Sydney Dobbin registered her first point as a Lancer with an assist on Lawrence’s goal, along with Shailyn Waites.

Kelly Campbell got the win in net for the Mustangs, facing 23 shots by Windsor, while rookie Hannah Slater was relieved between the pipes by Marissa Kozovski with just over 12 minutes left to play, for Windsor.

The Lancers get back on the road with a trip to the Greater Kitchener Area for games against the Waterloo Warriors (October 16) and Laurier Golden Hawks (October 17).

Windsor will open their home schedule with a visit from the Toronto Varsity Blues on October 24 at South Windsor Arena.
