Series Split Leaves St Clair At .500

(WINDSOR, ON) – The St Clair women’s volleyball team suffered a tough loss on Saturday afternoon at the Sportsplex to the Cambrian Golden Shield.

The Saints were defeated by a score of 3-1 with game scores for Cambrian of 25-20, 25-18, 20-25, and 25-12.

Shalena Horst led the way for St Clair with 13 kills, 6 service aces, and 14 digs.

Cambrian improved to 5 and 1 and are ranked 6th in Ontario while the Saints are ranked at 9.

The women bounced back to defeat the College Boreal Viperes on Sunday.

The Saints won the match by a score of 3-0 with game scores for St Clair of 25-5, 25-11, and 25-15.

Taylor Fitzgerald was on point for St Clair with  9 kills and 10 digs in two sets. Sara Yablonsky also had a strong match with 4 kills, 6 stuff blocks, and 2 digs.

With the win, St Clair’s record evened at 3-3 on the season while Boreal fell to 0-7.

St Clair is next in action when they host the Humber Hawks on November 22 at 1:00 pm at the Sportsplex. This will be their final home game of the semester.
