Griffins Capture 4th Straight Bowl

(WINDSOR, ON) – The Herman Green Griffins won their 4th straight OFSSA bowl game in dramatic fashion, by defeating the Frontenac Falcons 56-3 at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, yesterday. Despite dropping back 3-0 on a 1st quarter field goal, the Griffins, coached by Harry Lumley, rebounded with 56 unanswered points to win their 6th National Capital Bowl in seven appearances.

Herman won the game by bashing it out on the ground, gaining 224 yards on 28 carries. Jalen Jackson led the team with three touchdowns, including one on a 55 yard punt return. Jackson picked up 96 yards on 10 rumbles up the field.

Weston Simpson, Cody Holmes, Brandon McCrainey, Michael Beale, and Kaine Stevenson accounted for the other Herman touchdowns, with Stevenson’s coming on a fumble recovery. Zack Goertzen converted seven TDs and added a rouge for the Griffins.
