(OSHAWA, ON) – The St Clair women’s volleyball team travelled to Oshawa, this past weekend, to take part in the Adidas Cup Tournament, hosted by Durham College. The Saints had a successful weekend, placing third out of 14 teams in the event.

On Saturday, in round robin play, St Clair defeated Mohawk 2-0, lost to Niagara 0-2, tied Canadore 1-1, and beat Centennial 2-0.

On Sunday, the Saints completed round robin play by tying George Brown 1-1 and defeating Georgian 2-0.

St Clair ended round robin play with a record of 8 game wins and 4 game losses, which was good enough for second place in their pool. This set up a best 2-of-3 match for third place against Algonquin. The Saints ended up defeating the Thunder by a score of 2-1.

Game scores for St Clair were 17-25, 25-23, and 15-9.

Helen Wiebe was named a Tournament All-Star.

The Saints return to action when they open the second half of their OCAA regular season schedule by hosting the Redeemer Royals on January 9, at 1:00pm, at the Sportsplex.
