(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Lancers were slow to return from the break as they dropped a 4-0 result to the York Lions at South Windsor Arena on Friday evening. The Lancers rebounded the following day as they doubled the Brock Badgers 4-2 in OUA men’s hockey play.

After Blake Richard played a valiant effort by turning away 36 shots against York, Mike Doan got the start against Brock. The Lancers improved their record to 10-7-2 and moved into a 3-way tie for 2nd place.

Despite hosting Dylan Denomme in his crease, York goaltender Chris Perugini backstopped the Lions to a 4-0 win over the Lancers. Windsor would double up Brock, 4-2, the following evening.

The Badgers took a 1-0 lead through to the second period, until form LaSalle Viper Eric Noel tied the game at 14:08 on the power play. Three minutes later, Tyson Ness put Windsor ahead to stay.

Ness opened the 3rd with a goal 30 seconds into the frame and, after Brock drew to within one, Dylan Denomme tallied an empty netter to seal the deal.

Doan backstopped the win by kicking out 40 shots, in another defense-free outing.

Windsor will now face off on the road next weekend. They take on Toronto before meeting Guelph the next night. The Lancers return home on January 16 to play host to Laurier, starting at 7:30pm.
