Vipers Support Link To Literacy

(LaSALLE, ON) – The LaSalle Vipers are holding a Link To Literacy Night this evening at the Vollmer Centre, to collect books and promote the joy of reading. Fans are encouraged to bring in books that are in good condition and appropriate for children from kindergarten to Grade 8.

The Vipers will take on the St Thomas Stars with the puck dropping at 7:00pm. Adult tickets are $9, students and seniors are $7, and children six and under get in free.

Tamye Machina began Link To Literacy with the goal of putting books into the hands of children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to have one of their own.

“Owning a book is such a great motivator for children to want to read, learn and achieve success in school and life,” said Machina. The Vipers partnered with Link To Literacy in September to help promote the cause.

To date, Link To Literacy has collected more than 44,000 books for local children.
