(WINDSOR, ON) – It took a final second 3-pointer to give the Humber Hawks the CCAA National Title Saturday night, when they defeated Charlottetown’s Holland Hurricanes 50-49, in the Championship Game, at the St Clair College SportsPlex in Windsor.
Humber’s Ruth Holland was at the top circle when Ceejay Nofuente kicked the ball out to her and she nailed a triple leaving just 0:00.5 on the clock.
Holland College’s desperation pass down the court was knocked away to give Ontario its first ever CCAA National Championship and tipped off quite the celebration for the Humber faithful.
To say that tonight's women's championship basketball final was a nail biter would be an understatement :-D

The Hurricanes had control of the low scoring game and held a slim 22-20 lead at halftime. They increased that lead in the third quarter and were up 49-42 with just a few minutes to play. But, Humber closed the gap after some untimely Holland miscues setting up the final dramatics.
Ruth Holland only scored 8 points but, with that final shot, she earned Player of the Game honours for Humber.
Candace Smith was Holland’s Player of the Game and scored 14 points.
