Ansah The Answer For Lions

By Ian Shalapata

(ALLEN PARK, MI) – Ezekiel (Ziggy) Ansah will be a Detroit Lion for at least one more year after the team formally announced that it would pick up the 5th year option for the veteran defensive end. The Lions signed Ansah to the typical four-year contract all rookies receive once drafted. The 5th year option for the team is provided for first round picks.

Ansah’s production in 2015 included a career high 14.5 sacks, which was good enough for third in the NFL. Over the last three seasons since being drafted 5th overall out of BYU in 2013, Ansah has amassed 128 total tackles, 30 sacks, nine forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He’s expected to make around $12.7 million in 2017.
