Lions Bolster Roster

(ALLEN PARK, MI) – The Detroit Lions have announced that they have acquired LB Jon Bostic in a trade with the New England Patriots in exchange for an undisclosed, conditional draft pick.

Bostic joins the Lions after spending the 2015 season with the New England Patriots, where he played in 11 games. Prior to his time in New England, he played two seasons with the Chicago Bears.

A second-round selection, 50th overall, by the Bears in the 2013 NFL Draft, out of the University of Florida, Bostic has appeared in 40 NFL games, including 18 starts. His career totals include 140 tackles, two sacks, one interception, and one fumble recovery.

The Lions also announced the signing of unrestricted free agent WR Andre Caldwell. Entering his ninth NFL season, Caldwell joins the Lions following a four-year stint with the Denver Broncos, appearing in 14 games last season and hauling in 10 receptions for 72 yards and two touchdowns.

In Denver’s Super Bowl 50 win over Carolina, Cardwell caught one pass for 22 yards.

Caldwell spent four seasons from 2008 to 2011 with the Cincinnati Bengals after being selected by the team in the third round, 97th overall, of the 2008 NFL Draft, out of the University of Florida.

Detroit released C Darren Keyton.

The trade and signing comes on the heels of the Lions signing their nine selections from the 2016 Draft, and 12 additional undrafted rookies.
