Saints Sign Cirino Twins

(LaSALLE, ON) – The St Clair Cross Country program has announced the addition of a pair of runners from St Thomas of Villanova Catholic High School for the 2016 season.

Twin sisters Aryana and Hannah Cirino have signed a Letter of Intent in the presence of their friends and family in the front foyer of Villanova on Monday.

Competitive runners during their high school career, the Cirino’s were both sub 21-minute runners, last fall, at the SWOSSAA Cross Country Championship, helping to qualify Villanova in 2nd place for the OFSAA Provincial Championships.

Saints head coach Paul Boots is excited that St Clair could sign the top runners from the local area and eager to see them on the course this fall.

“Hannah and Aryana will make us competitive right away at Provincials,” Boots declared. “They are both quality individuals who have a passion for the sport. We were a tie-breaker away from a podium finish last fall and we hope this is a step to ensuring a medal next season.”

Hannah was 5th overall at WECSSAA with a 20:32 and finished 13th at SWOSSAA with a faster time of 20:05.

Aryana was 21st at WECSSAA in a time of 21:52 and right on her sister’s heals at SWOSSAA in 16th at 20:16.

Both women will be entering the dental hygiene program at St Clair in the fall.
