(WINDSOR, ON) – Ontario University Athletics volleyball returns to the court on October 28, but the Lancers won’t be back at it until a week later when they host Waterloo followed by Guelph Saturday afternoon. The women will lead off at 6:00pm and 2:00pm, respectively, while the men get started two hours later each day.
The Lancer women and the Gryphons split the 2015-16 regular season matches with identical 3-0 home victories.
The OUA will be divided into east and west divisions for the 2016-17 season, with teams meeting their divisional counterparts twice with single games against the other division rotating yearly. The Lancer men will enjoy an 17-game schedule while the women will compete in 19 regular season matches.
The final game in 2016 for the Lancer women will be on November 26 when they host Lakehead before breaking for exams and the holidays. The men will be done on November 19 as they play host to Ryerson. Both sides will be back in action January 15, at home to Western, and will finish the season on the road February 25, at Nipissing.
OUA volleyball playoffs will feature the top four divisional seeds competing toward the final four. The highest ranked remaining team will host the other semi-final seeds starting March 10, with gold and bronze matches taking place Saturday, March 11.
Gold medal winners will qualify for the CIS national championships at the University of Alberta (men) and at Ryerson University (women) from March 17 through 19.
