Panthers Bite Lancers

(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Lancers dropped the second tilt of the three-game NCAA Tip-off Classic. Saturday at the St Denis Fieldhouse. The Drury University Panthers, of the NCAA DII Great Lakes Valley Conference, came from behind in the 2nd half to out-last the Lancers 68-61.

Windsor had the edge at halftime, leading the Panthers 38-33 with 20 minutes left to play. However, an 18-3 run by Drury pushed the visitors past Windsor, aided by the Lancers shooting just 25% from the floor on 24 attempts.

The Lancers also ran into turnover issues, committing 21 giveaways while forcing just 10 from Drury.

Veteran point guard Mike Rocca led Windsor with 14 points and 5 rebounds.

Windsor will have a chance at redemption on Wednesday as Drury returns for a rematch. The teams will meet at 6:30pm.
