Montcalm Qualifies For Hurdles Semifinals

(RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL) – Former Windsor Lancer Noelle Montcalm completed Heat 5 of the women’s 400m hurdles in a time of 56.07 seconds to finish 2nd and qualify for the semifinals tonight at 8:30pm.

“I’ve actually been in a race where it was sunshine, rain, hail and snow within a minute,” said Cabral. “I knew it was raining. There was nothing I could do. No matter how much I complained, it’s still going to rain. The main thing that I realised during that race was it was kind of getting in my eyes a bit, and it threw me off on some of the hurdles, but nothing that any hurdler at this level can’t adapt to.”

“It is nice to beat a really good team as Italy,” said Frederic Winters. “We could control our destiny with a win so it was a lot of pressure for us. And they had no pressure, because they won the group. But we played really well and focused, mainly in the first and second set.”
