Lancers Wrap-Up

Shalapata-Header(WINDSOR, ON) – Three Lancers teams headed out on road over the past few days. All of them traveled to London to take on the Western Mustangs.


On the gridiron, the Lancers were rocked by the Mustangs 78-6 Sunday evening, under the lights.Clark Green accounted for all of Windsor’s points coming from 1st and 3rd quarter field goals, the latter a 29-yard connection.

Michigan-born QB Jalen Brady completed 17 of 23 for 137 yards and 2 interceptions for the Blue and Gold, while last year’s starter, Casey Wright, went 9 for 19 for 118 yards and 1 interception.

Tarrence Crawford gained 162 all purpose yards including 55 on the ground from 14 carries. Kaeden Walls picked up 103 yards including 56 on 3 receptions.

The Lancers meet Guelph at home on Monday in the Labour Day Classic, kicking off at 1:00pm.


Kyle Vizirakis made 3 saves but couldn’t prevent a Western 2-0 victory over the Lancers Wednesday evening. Mustang goals came in the 32nd and 86th minutes. The men travel to Sault Ste Marie for two games this weekend at the Algoma Thunderbirds.


Earning the only point of the three teams, the women’s soccer team earned a 0-0 draw with Western Wednesday. The ladies were out-shot 11-3 as Krystin Lawrence made 3 saves to preserve the clean sheet for Windsor.

The Lancers now have 5 points after 3 matches and a 1-0-2 record. They are tied with Western in 2nd place in the OUA west division.

The women will also travel to meet the Algoma Thunderbirds for two games this weekend.
