Two Clean Sheets For Lancers In The Soo

Shalapata-Header(SAULT STE MARIE, ON) – The Lancers twice shut out host Algoma this past weekend and leveled their record to 2-2-1 while the Thunderbirds dropped to 0-6-0.

In game 1 Windsor TFC defender Marco Bernabo put the Lancers ahead 1-nil in the 1st half before the visitors netted three in the final 20 minutes to notch a 4-nil victory. Keegan Pittuck added one while Jumbo Iyowuna sent two to the back of the net for Windsor.

Kyle Vizirakis earned the win in goal by stopping all four shots that came his way.

In the Sunday match, all the scoring was seen in the 2nd half as Kyle Ruggaber and Miguel Fontecha staked Windsor to a 2-nil win. This time Vizirakis shared duties and the win with understudy Greg Chac in the Lancers goal.

Windsor will travel to meet Laurier (3-2-0) on Saturday followed by Waterloo (1-3-1) the following day, this weekend. They will be looking to continue to put points on the board and move up from their current tie for 5th on the OUA West ladder.
