Ravens Spell Doom For Lancers

(OTTAWA, ON) – The 4th place Carlton Ravens man-handled the visiting Windsor Lancers 53-10 in a rare Friday afternoon game of OUA football. Despite leading just 4-0 after the first 15 minutes, Carlton turned it on, scoring in the double digits in each of the final three quarters.

Clark Green accounted for three field goals, and 9 points, on three attempts for the Lancers, and added a rouge on a 58-yard punt in the 2nd quarter.

QB Casey Wright threw for 117 yards while completing 12-of-23 passes and added another 15 yards on the ground.

Tarrence Crawford picked up 126 yards on 22 carries as well as pulling down 5 receptions for 41 yards.

The Windsor defense managed to penetrate Carlton’s offensive line for 3 sacks for 19 yards, though Ravens QB Jesse Mills threw 14 completions for 248 yards. The Lancers also gave up 235 yards to the Carlton running backs.

Windsor will remain on the road as they head up the 401 next week to take on the Queen’s Gaels on October 15 at 1:00pm.

The Lancers and Gaels are currently tied with Guelph and York, with identical 2-4 records, for the 6th and final playoff spot. Windsor will finish the regular season on October 22 at home against the top-ranked Laurier Golden Hawks.
