Saints Women Take Home Softball Hardware

(KITCHENER, ON) – The St Clair women’s softball team came away with a few awards at the OCAA Championship Banquet held Thursday evening at the Holiday Inn Conference Centre in Kitchener.  Conestoga College is playing host to this weekend’s championship tournament being played at Kitchener’s Budd Park.

Fourth-year pitcher Alexa Georgiou was named the OCAA’s Pitcher of the Year. She finished the season with a 10-2 record and posted the most wins in the league. Georgiou was among the league leaders with 65 strikeouts and a 1.91 ERA and was also named an OCAA All-Star.

Fourth-year Saints first baseman Skyler Patteson was also named to the OCAA All-Star team and finished with a remarkable 0.471 Batting average, which was 2nd best in the league. She was also 2nd in the province with 25 RBI’s and led the league with 41 hits on the season.

St Clair earned the top seed at the Provincial Championship tournament and won the first game of a double head against Humber, 5-4.
