Handsor Hands Lions Double-Double

(WINDSOR, ON) – The St Clair women’s basketball team defeated the Lambton Lions by a score of 81-38 in their OCAA West Region regular season home opener Friday night at the SportsPlex. The Saints quickly mounted a double-digit lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

After opening with a 19-5 advantage entering the second quarter, St Clair increased their lead to 40-14 by halftime. The Lady Saints scored 20 second chance points in the contest after clearing 25 offensive rebounds.

Saints 4th year player Shannon Kennedy led all scorers with 22 points, adding 9 rebounds and 3 steals.

Torrie Handsor had a double-double with 12 points and an impressive 16 rebounds for St Clair, and Shianne Riggan and Aleah Marton each chipped in 10 points.

The next game for the St Clair women will be November 12 vs the Redeemer Royals at 2:00pm.
