Martin Leads Lancers Past Warriors

(WINDSOR, ON) – The Windsor Lancers moved their record above .500 after a 94-78 win over the visiting Waterloo Warriors Wednesday night at the St Denis Fieldhouse. The 3-2 Lancers now occupy a share of 1st place in the OUA West with the Laurier Golden Hawks, who will provide their next opposition this coming Saturday.

Micqueel Martin led the Lancers offense with a game-high 24 points, as well as 5 helpers and 4 steals. Anthony Zrvnar chipped in 17 points and Tyler Persaud 12 as Windsor won each of the quarters.

A 4-point lead after 12 minutes was extended to 9 by the half. The Lancers continued to apply pressure to Waterloo’s backcourt, forcing turnovers, and running off with a 31-24 advantage in the 3rd frame.

The 2nd win in a row for Windsor ties the team with the Golden Hawks and sets up a showdown as the meet for the first time Saturday in Kitchener. The Lancers will play twice more in the GTA before opening the new year in Windsor on January 6 against the York Lions.
