(LaSALLE, ON) – For the 2016 Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Top Prospects Games, you’ll be seeing plenty of representation from the LaSalle Vipers. The games take place December 28 at the Morgan Firestone Arena in Ancaster.
Vipers forward Michael Ruttinger and goaltender Dershahn Stewart were named as alternates for the game featuring the league’s best players born between 1998 and 1999.
Stewart and forward Jack Bowler will play in the game featuring players born in 2000.
“It’s not only an honour for our players to be participating, but for the organization as a whole,” said head coach and general manager Bill Bowler. “For the selection committee of general managers and coaches to select these guys is a sign their contributions and efforts have not gone unnoticed.”
The Vipers coaching staff, trainers, and equipment managers will coach one of the 1998-99 teams, being given the honour by holding top spot in one of the GOJHL’s conferences.
“To be leading the conference when selections were made just shows how well the group has played so far,” Bowler said. “The staff represents our conference because of our players’ hard work, and we know that.”
