Saints Stay Tuned Up During Mid-Season Break

(MONTREAL, QC) – The St Clair women’s basketball team posted a 1-3 record at the Dawson College Winter Classic Tournament in Montreal this past weekend. The event featured 5 of the top 15 ranked colleges in Canada.

The Saints currently hold the #14 spot in the national rankings.

On Friday afternoon,the Saints opened the tournament with a 66-46 loss to Sainte-Foy, which is currently ranked #15 in Canada. Host Dawson is the 4th ranked team in Canada and defeated St Clair by a 63-25 margin Friday evening.

Saturday morning, 5th ranked Montmorency defeated the Saints 63-21.

St Clair earned a hard fought 55-51 victory over Vanier College Saturday night to end the tournament.

Canada’s top ranked team, Humber College, defeated Montmorency by a score of 70-67 in the Championship Game.

St Clair returns to OCAA West Region league play this weekend with games against Cambrian, of Sudbury. Tip time on Saturday is 3:00pm with another game on Sunday at 12:00 noon at the SportsPlex.
