(WINDSOR, ON) – The St Clair men’s volleyball team hosted a pair of OUA teams early in the new year at the Sportsplex for a Winter Break Exhibition Tournament.

On January 2 the Saints defeated the Windsor Lancers 3-2 after narrowly losing the first 2 sets 25-27 and 23-25. The Saints bounced back to take the next 3 sets 25-19, 25-22, and 15-11 in a very exciting match.

The next day, St Clair lost a nail-biter to the Toronto Varsity Blues. After taking the first set 25-22, the Saints lost the second set 25-22. They then took the third 25-18 to go up 2-1, however Toronto responded by winning the fourth set 25-21 to force the match to a deciding set.

In back and forth action, the Blues ended up winning 15-12 to win the match.

The Saints then went 3-1 in play during the Niagara Invitational from 6 to 7 January, defeating Niagara, Fleming, and Redeemer, while dropping only their match against Georgian.

St Clair returns to OCAA regular season action when they visit Conestoga on January 15.
